Sound is polluted when it is used beyond its capable power. Smoke pollutes air by melting pitch, emitting from motor vehicles. Mills and factories pollute water by throwing their industrial discharge into river, cannel. Water can also be polluted by chemicals used for cultivation. City life is becoming ill and unhealthy by environment pollution. Environment pollution is injurious because it affects human lives and world very dangerously. The programme was finished through songs and sounds. My cousins and friends took a number of photos.  There was   an atmosphere of joy and merriment everywhere in the house on the occasion. Your Visit to a book fair
A book fair which is organized to display and sell books is called a book fair. I visited a book fair organized on the 21st February last year. The fair looked very grand, large and nice. I went round the fair. I saw different book stalls, a huge crowd of people. The books such as novels, rhymes, adventure series etc. were available here. I saw the children and students were buying books according to their respective choice and taste. I learnt many things and purchased a few books by Emdadul Hoque Milon. I saw him surrounded by a lot of fans. He seemed to feel tired of giving autographs. The seminar held at the foot of a tree attracted me most. I gathered immense experience through visiting the fair.
Tree Plantation
Trees are the best friend of man. They do us good in many ways. They supply us food, medicine, timber, fuel and what not. The trees take in Carbon di-oxide and give us oxygen without that no animals can live. The trees present us flowers, the most beautiful things on earth. They keep the atmosphere cool and bring down rain. Yet some people are so ungrateful that they recklessly cut down such a beneficial friends. The little forests  that we have in Chittagong, Khulna, Dinajpur, and Tangail areas  are shrinking  day by day for increasing population. There are various fruit trees n all over the  country. But they are not sufficient to meet our fruit requirement. To make  our  country prosperous and to check  air  pollution  and to save our earth from greenhouse effects  we should plant more and more trees. Trees make the earth beautiful. Trees gives us fruits which are  the best  kind  of food. That  is why  heaven  is  imagined  as a  garden  full  of  trees. The earth  without  trees would  be a big desert  where  all  animals  will  die . So we should plant more trees.
Environment Pollution

My visit to place of Historical Interest
I am always curious by nature to know the places of historical interest. Whenever I get an opportunity, I visit  a  place . During  the last  winter  vacation, I got  such  an opportunity to visit Shat Gambuj Mosque at Bagherhat , a great  historical place with my parents. The Mazar of Khan Jahan Ali at Bagherhat is a fine one storied building. It has a beautiful dome. It is a big and beautiful building. The mosque is beautifully decorated both inside  and outside . The mosque was used as a prayer hall as well  as the court of Khan Jahan Ali.The mosque has great attraction  for  the tourists and visitors. There  is a  big dighi. It  is said  that a horse was made to run before digging the dighi. The  horse run straight covering a certain distance from the dighi. That distance was accepted  as  the length of the dighi. That is why, the dighi is called Ghora Dighi.I visited the whole length of the dighi and came to know many things about the social works of Khan Jahan Ali. I spent seven hours there  and saw many historical things and enjoyed myself. Now, It is one of the greatest tourists  attractions and the best  architectural beauties  of Bangladesh. I left  Bagherhat  but  the  memory  still is vivid  in my memory.

Price Hike
Price hike means the rise of price of daily necessaries. Today price hike is a common phenomenon in our economy. The price of essential commodities is increasing by leaps and bounds. The causes of price hike are many. Hoarding is one of the important factors for soaring price level. People hoard the essential commodities with an ill motive and as a result there is break down in the supply. Smuggling and black marketing are also important factors that cause price hike. Essential commodities are always being smuggled across the border. Shortage of supply due to low production also accelerates the price hike of essential goods. Our population is increasing in geometrical progress, while the supply of food increases in arithmetical progress. For this the supply of goods is very scanty in comparison to our demands. However efforts should be made and necessary actions and proper measures should be taken to tackle the situation. Hoarding should be controlled. Smuggling and black-marketing are to be eradicated. Adequate supply of essential commodities is to be ensured. And last of all government should launch programmed to tackle the price hike problem.
Load Shedding
Load shedding is an occurrence in our daily life. It has become a common part of electric outage and system loss. It means the fluctuation and short supply of electricity for the time being. The load shedding occurs when the production of power is comparatively less than the growing demand. The power authority stops disconnect the supply of a certain area to give the flow of electricity to other areas. The whole area plunges into darkness when the power line is cut off. There is hardly any area which is not affected because of load shedding. The system has been going on for long, but the solution to this problem is not in sight yet. It causes manifold problems to the rural as well as the urban people. Students face crucially at the time of their examinations. The works of mills and factories are snapped due to the whims of load shedding. It is a hurdle to the country’s overall socio-economic development. The power sector must be given top-most priority for its utility. The government should set up more power plants to cope with the current demand of electricity.
Olympic Games
The Olympic Games is a major international event, in which thousands of athletes participate in a variety of competitions. The Olympic Games are considered to be the world’s foremost sports competition and more than 200 nations participate. The Games are currently held every four years. Originally, the ancient Olympic Games were held in Olympia, Greece, from the 8th century BC to the 4th century AD. Baron Pierre de Coubertin founded the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 1894. The IOC has since become the governing body of the Olympic Movement, whose structure and actions are defined by the Olympic Charter. The Olympic Games have a long history. The first recorded Olympic Games took place in 776 B.C. though their origin may date back even earlier. Originally they began as a competition between the different Greek States and the early Olympiads had only one event – a simple race covering a distance of about 200 metres. Other sports like boxing, chariot racing and pentathlon were added over a period of time. Around 100 B.C. Greece was conquered by Rome. The Games lost their glamour under the Romans who did not encourage them and in A.D. 394 the Roman Emperor ended the Olympic Games because of the decline in the quality of the spectacle. No Olympic Games were held for the next 1500 years. The credit for beginning the modern Olympic Games goes to a Frenchman, Baron Pierre de Coubertin. He had discovered the ruins of the stadium at Olympia in Greece where the ancient games used to be held. This find gave him the idea of the Modern Olympics. In 1894, he presented his idea at an international meeting on amateur sports and the group voted to organize the games. The International Olympic Committee was set up and the first modern Olympic Games took place in Athens in 1896. Encouraged by the success of these Games, de Coubertin felt that the Olympics should be held in a different place each year. Since then, the Olympic Games have been celebrated every four years except in 1916, when they were cancelled because of World War I and in 1940 and 1944, when the Second World War caused them to be cancelled. The Olympics celebrate man’s physical prowess and have come a long way since they first began. From a total of 311 athletes in 1896, today the Olympic Games have over 10,000 sportspersons participating from more than 200 countries. Now the game is more enjoyable than ever.
A Good Citizen
A good citizen is someone who respects others, their property. He or she is helpful, considerate, willing to put others first, listens to the views of others, thinks about what they have to say, helps people who are not in a position to help themselves, respects the environment and does not damage it in anyway, works hard, is well mannered and pleasant, is always willing to learn. Human beings have to live under laws and patterns that are dictated to us by society, but following those patterns does not make us good citizens. To be a good citizen first you have to be a good person. It means that the persons have to be full of values, principles, ethics, etc. When joining all these aspects together he will find out that there is nothing else to be needed. One important aspect for being a good citizen is to help people. All around us, we can see there are always people in need for our help. Our job as good citizens is to help those kinds of people. When talking about the people that need our help, I am not only talking about the poor ones, but also the pregnant woman who cannot carry a heavy package or the old man that cannot cross the street. Remember that little actions make the difference. Another important thing we have to remember for being a good citizen is to have an active participation in our community. There are a lot of ways we can do that. When elections come for voting for the leaders, we have to be in the line ready to give our vote. When there is a gathering of our neighborhood for deciding about the maintenance of the streets, we have to be there to tell our point of view. The last point for being a good citizen is the respect toward the people that live around us. We have to remember that as we have rights, they have them too. Respect is one of the most important bases when living in a society. We all have freedom, but it is restricted to certain point.
My Favourite Festival
Pahela Baishakh is my favourite and it is a part and parcel of Bangle culture. It is the first day of Bengali Calendar year. Our people observe this day with great festivities. The Baishakhi Mela which is celebrated this day is perhaps the largest festival of Bangle culture. People from all walks of life this festival in joyous mood. Urban people try to keep a while away from their blind mimicry of western culture and tend to be a Bangle at least this day. In villages people pass the day meeting one another, giving and receiving invitations, enjoying music etc. by local performers and doing many other festive deeds. Businessmen open new books of account this very day which is known as Halkhata. Thus Pahela Baishakh comes every year with great joy and delight.
Baishakhi Mela is a part and parcel of Bengali culture. It is perhaps the largest and most comprehensive celebration of the arts and culture of Bangladesh. It is held on the 1st day of the Bangla New Year and the Bangalees were all looking forward to welcome the year through this celebration. The Ramna Batamul is the centre around which New Year celebration has spread around the city and gradually across the country. This festival encompasses exhibition, music, poetry, crafts, photography, theatre etc in the urban area. A Baishakhi Mela is an annual gathering; it is one of the chief attractions of the village too. Some fairs are held for a day, some are held for some days. It is held generally in the open place or on the bank of a river or a canal. Men women and children gather in the Baishakhi Mela in large numbers fancy goods, toys, balloons, flutes, sweets and wooden things are mostly sold and children buy them. Circus parties are the common feature of the Baishakhi Mela. They often bring trained small tigers, elephants, monkeys, horses and bears that show funny feats. It is a matter of pride and pleasure that we celebrate our identity ma true spirit through Baishakhi Mela.
